Northants IVC - Data Protection Policy

Introduction

Northants IVC collects, stores and uses personal information in accordance with our understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.

Collection

Personal information (including: name, address, phone numbers, email address, date of birth, membership status, contact preferences) is collected from prospective members and full members using on-line forms, paper application forms and by phone, email or in person.

Storage

Personal information is stored on one or more committee members’ personal computers and those of established on-line service providers, as directed by the committee.

Members may at any time request a complete copy of the data held about them by contacting the membership secretary.

Usage

Personal information is used exclusively for the purposes of running Northants IVC, including:

• Recruitment of prospective members
• Processing of membership applications and annual renewals
• Provision of printed, on-line and electronic event information to full and prospective members
• Provision of membership lists to full members
• Encouraging participation of full and prospective members in club activities by email, phone and in writing.
• Other purposes as directed by the committee and permitted within data protection and privacy & electronic communications legislation

Note: If you do not wish your information to be used for any of these purposes, please use any opt-out facilities provided and/or contact the membership secretary.
